In this video, Ram Rahman, curator, photographer and one of the founding members of SAHMAT, walks us through the exhibition.

On the occasion of 75 years of India's independence, the Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust organised an exhibition (from 2nd July to 14th August, 2022) of text and images by more than 200 writers, artists and photographers. Titled 'Hum Sab Sahmat: Resisting the Nation for its Citizens' the exhibited works probe the different meanings of freedom, resistance and citizenship in a nation that is currently being driven by the politics of hate. The exhibition also featured performances by Shubha Mudgal, Aneesh Pradhan, TM Krishna, the Aahvaan Project and Dastaan LIVE, and screenings of films by Saeed Akhtar Mirza. In this video, Ram Rahman, curator, photographer and one of the founding members of SAHMAT, walks us through the exhibition.
